iPhone Duo Accessories: What Fits and What to Buy in the UAE
The iPhone Duo goes on sale in the UAE on Friday 23 October, from AED 8,499. Because it folds, most of the cases and glass you already own won't fit it. This guide covers what does fit, what to skip, and which iPhone Duo accessories we stock in Dubai.
What accessories does the iPhone Duo need?
Most owners need three things: a case made for the Duo that leaves the hinge free to move, a protector for the 5.4-inch outer screen, and a camera lens protector. MagSafe and Qi2 chargers still work. Skip regular tempered glass on the inner screen, because it can crack when the phone closes.
Why won't my old iPhone accessories fit?
Nothing about the Duo’s body matches the iPhones that came before it. Folded, it measures 84.1 × 117.8 × 11.3 mm; open, it is 164.6 × 117.8 × 5.2 mm. It has two screens (5.4-inch outside, 7.6-inch inside) and a hinge Apple built from more than 100 parts.
That changes three things for accessories:
- Cases have to wrap two halves and leave the hinge room to move. Apple's own iPhone Duo Case (AED 319) uses a two-part design for this reason.
- Glass that suits a flat phone can crack on a folding one. Reports on the launch recommend flexible TPU or PET film for any surface that bends.
- MagSafe accessories like grips, card holders and battery packs will still snap onto the back. Ones shaped for a regular iPhone may poke out past the sides once the Duo is closed.
USB-C cables and most MagSafe and Qi2 chargers work as they did before. Apple says a MagSafe or Qi2 charger takes the Duo to 50% in about 30 minutes.
The best iPhone Duo case
Look for three things: a hinge that opens without fighting the case, raised edges around the cameras, and built-in magnets so MagSafe chargers still snap on.

iPhone Duo screen protectors
Treat the two screens differently. The 5.4-inch outer screen stays flat, so a fitted protector works there. The PanzerGlass 2-Way Privacy Front Screen Protector (AED 159) is cut for the Duo's front screen and comes with an alignment tool, so it goes on straight.
The 7.6-inch inner screen folds. Don't put standard tempered glass on it. If you want cover there, use a flexible film sold for the Duo's inner display.
Camera lens protectors

The Duo works with MagSafe and Qi2 chargers, and the box only includes a USB-C cable. You'll need a USB-C wall adapter if you don't already have one.

What is the best iPhone Duo case?
For most people, a slim MagSafe case such as the CARE by PanzerGlass SL1M (AED 129). If you want more drop protection, the CARE Discovery Case (AED 219) is thicker. Apple's Folio with Kickstand (AED 529) suits people who watch a lot of video.
Do iPhone 17 cases fit the iPhone Duo?
No. The Duo folds and is a different size from any earlier iPhone, so it needs a case made for it.
Can I use tempered glass on the iPhone Duo?
